To port your phone number away from Moxie, here’s what you need to do:
1. Contact Your New Carrier
Reach out to the carrier you want to move your number to (e.g., Verizon, AT&T).
They will guide you through their port-in process and provide a Letter of Authorization (LOA) for you to complete.
2. Gather Required Information
Your new carrier may not or may ask for:
Account Number: The account number refers to the last 8 digits of the Twilio account SID to which the number belongs. However, please note that some carriers do not allow you to enter both letters and numbers. If that's the case, please use the last 8 numbers of your Twilio account SID, excluding any letters.
Port-Out PIN (if required): Only needed for US local numbers.
Not all carriers require port-out PIN and account number. If they require these information, you will need to contact Moxie support to help you get these information from Moxie carrier (Twilio).
3. Submit the Port Request
Complete the LOA and provide all required information to your new carrier.
The new carrier will initiate the port-out request with Twilio (Moxie's phone carrier).
4. Moxie will approve the port-away request
When Twilio receives the port-out request, Moxie gets an email notification to approve your request.
5. Completion
Once approved, Twilio will coordinate with your new carrier to release the number.
After the port is complete, the number will be removed from your Moxie account.
