Getting Started prepares the information and connections that invoices, agreements, scheduling, and other Moxie features rely on.
Before you begin
The workspace owner completes initial setup for a workspace created in Moxie V4. Existing workspaces moving from V3 keep their established data and settings instead of repeating this setup. Invited team members in a new V4 workspace receive a shorter welcome experience based on the access they were given.
Complete initial setup
Add your business identity, location, currency, and timezone.
Create your default Brand Kit: choose Professional, Studio, Casual, or Minimal, then set Primary, Secondary, and Accent colors. Optionally upload your logo and choose a brand font; leaving the font blank uses the personality’s recommended pairing.
Connect the email address Moxie should use for automated client messages.
Connect the calendar you use for availability and scheduling.
Add a real client or create a removable example client.
Choose the goal that best describes what you want to accomplish first.
Address, business phone, and website are recommended rather than required. Moxie warns you before continuing because leaving them blank can produce awkward business-information sections in invoices and agreements.
Start with the business details Moxie will reuse on documents, emails, and your client portal.
Choose your brand personality
The branding step has Form, Invoice, and Client portal preview tabs on the right. Your colors generate the supporting backgrounds and borders, while the personality supplies typography defaults and corner styles. Saving publishes the default kit and creates its matching default invoice template if the workspace has no invoice templates yet. Existing templates are never replaced by repeating setup. Fine-tune the result afterward in Settings → Brand kits.
Compare your identity across forms, invoices, and the client portal before saving.
Confirm the essential connections
Before moving into daily work, confirm that Moxie shows an active automated sender and at least one connected calendar. These connections prevent avoidable interruptions when you send a document or publish availability.
After authorization, Moxie identifies the verified address it will use for documents, reminders, and client notifications.
A connected calendar gives Moxie the availability context needed for accurate scheduling.
Add the first client and choose a starting point
Your first client gives projects, invoices, agreements, forms, meetings, files, and communication a shared context. Use a real client when possible, or create a removable example client while you learn.
Add the client details you want Moxie to reuse throughout the relationship.
Your selected goal determines the first guided action Moxie recommends after setup.
Use the ongoing checklist
After the initial wizard, Get started appears above Home in the main navigation. The checklist links directly to unfinished work and completes automatically when Moxie detects the corresponding record or connection.
Use the Dismiss control to remove optional checklist items that do not apply to your business. You can also dismiss Send your first invoice when you do not use Moxie invoicing. The choice is saved for the workspace, so the item and its related Home suggestions stay hidden across browsers and devices. Ending setup early is also available from the checklist menu, but Moxie warns you before removing the experience.
The persistent checklist separates essential setup from useful next steps and optional features.
Finish setup
When every remaining item is complete, the navigation item changes to Finish setup. Select it to review your checklist or confirm that you are finished. Getting Started remains in navigation until the workspace owner explicitly finishes it.
