Understand clients and contacts in Moxie

Learn how client relationships and individual contacts fit together throughout Moxie.

Written by Geoff Mina

Clients and contacts work together to keep the relationship with a customer organized without mixing business-level information with the people you communicate with.

Clients provide the shared context

A client usually represents a business, household, or customer relationship. Projects, invoices, agreements, forms, meetings, files, notes, and other records connect to the client so you can see the complete relationship in one workspace.

Contacts are the people involved

A client can have one or more contacts. Each contact keeps that person’s name, email address, phone number, role, and communication history. Contact responsibilities identify the primary person, invoice recipient, and portal user without duplicating the client’s business information.

Choose the right starting point

  • Open a client when you want the relationship overview, private notes, meaningful activity, or related work.

  • Open a contact when you want information or communication history for one person.

  • Use the main Clients and Contacts lists when you need a workspace-wide view.
