Understand Work in Moxie

Learn how projects, tasks, time tracking, and recurring tasks work together.

Written by Geoff Mina

Work is where Moxie turns a client relationship into an organized delivery plan. Projects hold the shared context, tasks describe what must happen, time entries record effort, and recurring tasks create repeatable work automatically.

Projects organize an engagement

A project connects a client, timeline, team, pricing model, portal access, related business records, and the tasks required to deliver the work. Use one project for each engagement that needs its own schedule or commercial context.

Tasks turn the plan into action

Tasks can belong to a project and client, or remain independent. Each task can include a status, assignees, dates, priority, subtasks, comments, files, and tracked time. The main Tasks page brings work from every project into one operational view.

Time and recurrence support the work

  • Time records what was worked, who worked it, its client and project context, and whether the entry is ready for billing.

  • Recurring tasks create new task records on a schedule. Generated tasks then behave like ordinary tasks.

  • Project templates create an entire repeatable project plan at once; recurring tasks are better for a single action that repeats over time.
