Find and organize your projects

Use Workday, Portfolio, List, filters, and saved views to organize project delivery.

Written by Geoff Mina

The Projects page helps you move from a small set of engagements to a larger portfolio without losing sight of progress, dates, pricing, or ownership.

Choose the view for the decision at hand

Use Workday to decide what needs to be done, Portfolio to understand the health of the work as a whole, or List to browse and manage project records directly.

Run the day from Workday

Workday puts dated commitments in priority order while keeping their client and project context visible. The summary shows what is overdue, due today, due later this week, or still missing a date.

  • Select Show my tasks to focus the agenda on work assigned to you.

  • Use the single Filter control to narrow by client, project owner, project type, task status, task assignee, due period, or project custom field.

  • Select an Overdue, Today, This week, or Unscheduled summary to focus on that period. Select it again to return to the complete dated agenda.

  • Change a task status or due date directly from Workday.

  • Select a task name to open its full task details.

  • Select a project in Client workload to open that project's standard Tasks page. Its back button returns you to Workday.

The agenda answers what needs attention and when; Client workload explains the projects behind the visible commitments.

Review the business from Portfolio

Portfolio brings together active projects, task completion, hours used, near-term capacity, and the work that needs attention.

  • Off track identifies overdue unfinished work, overdue tasks, or projects that have exceeded their maximum estimated hours.

  • At risk identifies approaching deadlines, estimates that are nearly consumed, and capacity conflicts.

  • Needs planning identifies the specific dates, estimates, tasks, ownership, or capacity allocations that still need attention. A saved capacity allocation counts as ownership of the planned work.

Select a project in the attention list or health table to open its full workspace. Use the capacity outlook to see whether the visible team has room over the next several weeks.

Portfolio explains why work needs attention, so you can act without opening every project first.

Save the project views you return to

Use the saved-view menu when you have configured Projects for a recurring decision, such as your own deadlines this week, a specific client portfolio, or a table grouped for a weekly review.

  1. Choose Workday, Portfolio, or List and configure its filters, grouping, fields, or sort.

  2. Open the saved-view menu and select Save current view.

  3. Name the view and optionally make it your default Projects view.

Opening a project and returning keeps the view you were using during the current app session. After a full app reload, Moxie uses your saved default. Search text is intentionally not saved.

Switch to the project list

Select List when you want to browse, search, compare, or manage project records directly.

  • Use Active for work currently in progress.

  • Use Complete to find finished engagements.

  • Use All when you need both in one result set.

  • Search by project, client, or information stored in project custom fields.

  • Use Filter to narrow by client, project owner, project type, or any project custom field. The owner filter includes Unassigned, and custom fields can include projects where a value is not set.

Custom-field filters can be combined. For text fields, enter any part of the value in Contains. For checkbox fields, selecting multiple choices includes a project when it matches any selected choice in that field.

Choose card or table view

Card view emphasizes the overall shape of each engagement. Table view aligns the most important fields across projects, which is useful when comparing progress, timelines, fees, or owners.

Project dates use month and day for the current year and add the year for earlier or later work. If a project timeline crosses years—or either endpoint is outside the current year—both endpoints show their years.

Table view makes project comparisons predictable while preserving client avatars and progress indicators.

Adjust the presentation

  • Use the sort control to order projects by the field most useful for the current decision.

  • Use Fields to add or remove optional information from the list.

  • Select a column heading when that column supports direct sorting.

  • Open the row menu for project-specific actions without first opening the workspace.

Your project list choices are designed to persist, so temporarily opening a client or project does not require rebuilding the view when you return.
