Create and manage recipient lists

Build reusable operational-email audiences from live contacts, filtered imports, and manual recipients.

Written by Geoff Mina

Recipient lists create reusable audiences for expected service and operational email while keeping linked contact information current.

Create a list

  1. Select New list.

  2. Give the audience a specific name and optional description.

  3. Select Create.

  4. Use Import contacts or Add recipient to build the membership.

The list workspace keeps membership, search, editing, and deletion in one first-class settings area.

Import the right contacts

Import contacts opens a searchable audience builder. Use the filter pattern to narrow by client and other available contact attributes, select the exact matches, and add them together.

Filtered import is safer and more predictable than manually copying a broad client list.

Linked contacts stay current

When a member is tied to a Moxie contact, the list uses the live contact record rather than storing a duplicate name and email. Updating that contact's email or name therefore updates how the person appears in every list that includes them.

Manual recipients are stored independently because no contact record exists for Moxie to reference.

Understand unsubscribes

The Unsubscribes tab shows addresses excluded from all bulk email in the workspace. A suppressed person remains on the list for historical clarity but is skipped during sending.

Use lists responsibly

Recipient lists are not a general marketing-list tool. Add people only when the relationship and the message make the communication expected.
