Control what a client can actually see by combining contact access, client features, and visibility on the individual records you share.
Use the three visibility checks
Can the person sign in? Confirm portal access on their contact.
Can the client use this section? Confirm the feature is enabled for the workspace or client override.
Is this record shared? Review the record's own portal settings.
Set project visibility
When you create or edit a project, use Client portal to choose the collaboration level:
Full project collaboration supports the complete client-facing project experience.
Read only project collaboration lets clients review shared project information without the same collaboration permissions.
Overview only shares a higher-level project view.
Not visible keeps the project out of the portal.
You can also decide whether time worked appears for the project.
Record-level visibility lets you enable Projects in navigation without exposing every project.
Share other client records deliberately
Invoices, agreements, forms, files, appointments, and requests become available through their normal client-facing share or visibility workflows. Review the final recipient, client, and status before sending or publishing anything.
If a client sees an empty section
An enabled navigation item with no visible records usually means the feature is available but nothing in that area has been shared with the client yet. Review the corresponding records rather than disabling and re-enabling the feature.
