Search, navigate, and run commands

Use Universal Search to find records, open features, and run slash commands from anywhere in Moxie.

Written by Geoff Mina

Universal Search is the fastest way to find a record, jump to a feature, or run a common command without working through the navigation.

Open Universal Search

Select Search in the top bar, or press Command + K on a Mac or Ctrl + K on Windows. Start typing a client, project, invoice, ticket, agreement, or another record name. Moxie groups matching results by type so similarly named records remain easy to distinguish.

One search can surface related records from several parts of Moxie.

Navigate to a feature

You do not need to remember where a feature lives. Search for a page or setting—such as invoices, workflows, email templates, or client portal—and choose the matching navigation result. This makes Universal Search useful even when you are not looking for a specific record.

Run slash commands

Type / by itself to see the command palette. Continue typing to narrow the list, then choose a command to open its creation or action flow.

Slash commands turn Universal Search into a keyboard-friendly action launcher.

Available commands include:

  • /new-client — create a client

  • /new-project — create a project

  • /new-invoice — create an invoice

  • /new-agreement — create an agreement

  • /new-ticket — create a ticket

  • /new-task — create a task

  • /new-time-entry — add a time entry

  • /start-timer or /stop-timer — control the current timer; Moxie shows the action that applies now

  • /send-email — compose an email

Work from the keyboard

Use the arrow keys to move through results, press Enter to open the selected result, and press Escape to close Universal Search. The current page stays behind the search panel until you choose where to go.
