Create records from anywhere

Use Moxie's global create menu and understand when contextual creation is the better shortcut.

Written by Geoff Mina

The global create menu lets you begin common work without first navigating to the destination list.

Open the create menu

Select the purple + in the top bar. From there, you can start a timer, create an invoice, send an email, or create a client, project, task, or agreement.

The create menu keeps your most common starting actions available throughout Moxie.

Choose global or contextual creation

Use the global menu when you know what you want to create but are not already working from a related record. When you are inside a client or project, prefer that page's New action when it is available. Contextual creation can carry the current client or project into the new record and save you from selecting it again.

Calendar also has a contextual Create menu for calendar events, personal to-dos, time entries, tasks, projects, invoices, and agreements. Use it when the date you are planning should remain visible while you begin the work.

Review before you finish

The global menu opens the same Moxie editor used elsewhere in the app. Complete the required details and review any client, project, dates, recipients, or financial information before saving or sending.
