Move through Moxie without losing context

Use contextual settings, return paths, side panels, and browser-native links to move through Moxie efficiently.

Written by Geoff Mina

Moxie includes small navigation patterns that help you configure a workflow, inspect related records, and return to your original context without retracing every step.

Open settings in context

When a list or workspace has related configuration, use its settings control to jump directly to the relevant preferences, templates, or integrations. For example, the invoice list links to invoice preferences, invoice templates, and payment providers.

Contextual settings links take you to configuration without cluttering the main workflow.

Open records without losing your place

  • Editors that appear in a right-side panel keep the current list or detail page behind them.

  • Full record pages preserve where you came from when the workflow provides a back control.

  • Client and project related-record links open filtered module views while maintaining the parent record as your return destination.

  • Client avatars outside form fields are shortcuts to the corresponding client workspace.

Use browser-native link controls

For primary links, hold Command on a Mac or Ctrl on Windows while selecting the link to open it in a new tab. A middle-click works as well. This is useful when you want to compare records or keep a list available while inspecting several items.

Tip: If you are unsure where a setting or feature lives, press Command + K or Ctrl + K and search for it by name.
