Work inside a task

Use task details, subtasks, time, comments, and files without losing your place.

Written by Geoff Mina

Open a task when you need more than a quick status or date change. The task workspace keeps detailed editing in a right-side panel so you can work without losing the list, project, ticket, or calendar behind it.

Use the Overview tab

Overview contains the task’s workflow and planning fields: status, assignees, client, project, start date, due date, priority, rank, description, and any task custom fields defined by the project type.

A task editor open over the Tasks workspace with Overview, Subtasks, Time, Comments, and Files tabs

The slide-over keeps the originating workspace visible while giving the task enough room for complete editing.

Use the supporting tabs

  • Subtasks breaks a task into smaller pieces. Subtasks remain connected to their parent and share the parent’s project context.

  • Time shows time worked on this task and lets you open individual time entries for correction.

  • Comments records team discussion and collaboration about the work.

  • Files keeps task-specific documents attached to the task.

Save and close

Select Save after editing overview fields. Closing the panel returns you to the same workspace and route context. A direct task link can still reopen the same task, making it safe to share internally.

Use the task action menu for archive, delete, conversion between task and subtask, or other structural changes. Destructive actions require a Moxie confirmation rather than a browser confirmation.
