Track time with the Moxie timer

Start, pause, resume, connect, and save accurate time from anywhere in Moxie.

Written by Geoff Mina

The Moxie timer records work while it happens and remains available throughout the application. You can start with no context and add it later, or connect the timer to a client, project, task, or ticket before you begin.

Start the timer

  1. Select the timer icon in the top bar.

  2. Select Start timer.

  3. Add the client, project, task, notes, and billable setting that describe the work.

The idle timer is intentionally simple; recent entries remain one tab away.

Adjust an active timer

The active panel shows the start time and current duration. You can type a duration such as 45m, 1.5h, or 1:30, or use the adjustment buttons. Changing the duration keeps the start and elapsed time synchronized.

An active timer keeps timing controls, work context, and the final save action together.

Pause, resume, or finish

  • Pause stops counting without ending the timer.

  • Resume continues from the paused duration. Moxie can also help recover a pause that should have counted as work.

  • Stop & save entry creates the completed time entry.

  • Discard removes the timer without creating an entry and requires a second confirmation.
