Review and manage time entries

Understand tracked time, billing status, filters, grouping, manual entries, and exports.

Written by Geoff Mina

The Time tracking page combines a timesheet with visual context. Use it to understand where time went, correct individual entries, and prepare records for billing or export.

Set the reporting window

Choose a date preset or custom range before analyzing the page. Search and filters then narrow the entries inside that window by client, member, billing status, project context, or other available dimensions.

Read the at-a-glance section

  • Total tracked summarizes the duration, entry count, and active days.

  • Un-billed highlights time that may still need billing attention.

  • Billable share compares billable time with the selected result set.

  • Average per active day provides pace and peak-day context.

  • The chart follows the same filters as the table, so the visualization and records stay aligned.

The analytics and table are based on the same filtered entries, preventing mismatched totals.

Invoice unbilled time

If your role includes invoice access, select Invoice unbilled at the top of Time or select the Un-billed KPI card. The dialog reviews unbilled hourly work across the workspace, not only the date range or filters currently applied to the table.

The dialog separates clients into two sections:

  • Ready to invoice contains hourly entries that are not assigned to an upcoming recurring invoice. Select Create invoice to create a draft, add those entries as invoice lines automatically, and open the normal invoice editor for review. The billable-work side panel stays closed.

  • Scheduled for recurring invoice contains hours covered by an enabled recurring invoice with a valid upcoming run. Moxie shows the scheduled date so you know when the hours will be collected automatically.

Hours reserved for a healthy recurring invoice remain visible for reassurance but are kept out of the normal ready-to-invoice action.

Invoice scheduled hours early

Select Invoice these hours early when you do not want to wait for the displayed recurring invoice date. Moxie creates a draft containing only those scheduled time entries. After they are added to the draft, the recurring invoice will no longer collect them as unbilled time on its next run.

What to expect

  • Amounts are estimates based on the saved client or hourly project rate. Review the resulting draft before sending it.

  • An entry already attached to another invoice is no longer available as unbilled work.

  • If another person invoices the hours before your draft is created, Moxie returns you to Time instead of creating an empty invoice.

  • Home → Needs attention uses narrower urgency rules. Current-month hours and hours reserved for a healthy recurring invoice can appear here even though they do not appear as billing exceptions on Home.

Add, edit, and organize entries

  • Select Add entry to record work manually with explicit start, end, duration, context, notes, and billable status.

  • Open a row to edit its time range or context. Entries already attached to an invoice are locked.

  • Use grouping to organize the table by day, client, project, team member, or no group.

  • Use the row menu to duplicate an entry when similar work needs a separate record.

  • Select Export to download the current scoped result set.
