Create recurring tasks

Schedule repeatable work, preview future dates, and monitor each task schedule.

Written by Geoff Mina

Recurring tasks create a new, ordinary task on a schedule. Use them for work such as monthly reporting, weekly reviews, or periodic follow-up that should enter your task workflow automatically.

Create the reusable task

  1. Select New recurring task.

  2. On Details, name the schedule and the task it will create.

  3. Choose its initial status, assignees, priority, relative due date, description, client, and project.

  4. Add any files that every generated task should receive.

Configure the schedule

Open Schedule and choose the repeat frequency, start date, and optional end date. Moxie previews the next occurrences so you can confirm the rule before saving. The server remains authoritative for actual execution.

The schedule preview translates the repeat rule into concrete dates before you commit it.

Manage existing schedules

The Recurring tasks page summarizes active, paused, upcoming, and attention-needed schedules. Search or filter the table, open a schedule to edit it, and use its actions to pause, resume, run now, or delete it.

Schedule definitions stay separate from the task list; generated tasks appear with normal project work.

Run now requires confirmation because it creates work immediately. History combines structured execution results with older history when both exist.
