Accept online payments

Connect Stripe or PayPal and make supported online payment choices available on invoices.

Written by Geoff Mina

Connect Stripe or PayPal so eligible invoices can offer secure online payment choices. Payment-provider settings are separate from the subscription you use to pay for Moxie.

Choose a provider

  • Stripe supports eligible card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and ACH bank-payment experiences based on your account, currency, and Stripe capabilities.

  • PayPal uses a connected PayPal Business account for supported invoice checkout.

Moxie payment provider settings with Stripe and PayPal connection choices

Provider status and payment capabilities are managed together in Settings → Payment providers.

Connect Stripe

  1. Choose Stripe.

  2. Select Sign up with Stripe for a new account, or Connect existing account when you already use Stripe.

  3. Complete Stripe's onboarding and verification steps.

  4. Return to Moxie and confirm that the connection is ready to accept payments.

  5. Enable the available card or bank-payment choices appropriate for your workspace.

Connect PayPal

  1. Choose PayPal.

  2. Start the supported PayPal Business onboarding flow.

  3. Complete the requested PayPal account permissions and return to Moxie.

  4. Confirm that the provider status reports that it is ready.

Enable payment on an invoice

A provider connection makes online payment available to your workspace; each eligible invoice must also have Accept online payments enabled. Preview the invoice and payment experience before sending it to the client.

Know what is not surfaced in Money

Legacy Stripe subscription tools remain inside the Stripe settings area for backwards compatibility. For new repeating billing, use Money → Recurring schedules rather than creating a new legacy Stripe subscription.
