Understand Inbox & communications

Learn how synced email, text messages, calls, email activity, and tickets fit together.

Written by Geoff Mina

Inbox & communications brings client email, text messages, calls, tickets, and outbound-email history into one working area. Each tool solves a different communication problem while keeping the client relationship close at hand.

Choose the right area

  • Messages combines synced email threads, text conversations, and call history.

  • Tickets turns a client request into a managed conversation with ownership, status, tasks, time, files, and internal notes.

  • Email activity shows email Moxie sent for you, including scheduled and bulk sends.

  • Communicator phone is the always-available calling and texting workspace opened from the top bar.

How email synchronization stays focused

Moxie is a client-communication workspace, not a second copy of your entire mailbox. Inbox email synchronizes only when a message is to or from a person Moxie recognizes through a contact or opportunity. Messages involving people who are not known to Moxie do not appear in the Inbox.

You can also approve a client email domain in Communications settings when everyone at that domain should be considered part of a known client relationship.

Keep your CRM current

Add your contacts before connecting your inbox. During the initial connection, Moxie can find available historical conversations for the contacts and opportunities it already knows. Adding someone to Moxie later does not currently bring in older email from before that person was known. New messages can synchronize going forward.

Retroactive synchronization for contacts added later is planned for a future release.

A practical workflow

  1. Make sure the clients, contacts, and active opportunities you communicate with are present in Moxie.

  2. Connect the mailbox you use for client conversations.

  3. Use Messages for day-to-day email, texts, and calls.

  4. Use Tickets when a request needs ownership, follow-up work, or a clear resolution state.

  5. Use Email activity to confirm what Moxie sent and what is still scheduled.
