Preferences control Moxie's defaults for the app, new clients, invoices, agreements, and reusable typography.
Set app preferences
Under Appearance, choose Automatic to match your device, or always use Light or Dark mode. Turn on High contrast to strengthen text and control contrast; it keeps the colors of the theme you selected.
Under Theme, choose the palette Moxie uses in both light and dark mode: Moxie, Professional, Warm, Eco friendly, Bold, Minimalist, or 80's Party. Workspace members with full access can also choose My brand, which uses the colors of your default Brand Kit (or your Client Portal colors when no default kit is set).
Under Display, set the first day of the week, select whether dates use MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY, choose a 12-hour or 24-hour clock, and decide whether client logos appear in lists.
Your date, time, and appearance choices follow you across devices for the current workspace. Date and time choices change how values and picker controls appear; they do not change stored dates, timezones, currencies, or shared records. If you have not selected a format yet, Moxie starts with your browser convention.
Appearance, contrast, and theme choices are personal; the other Preferences tabs hold workspace defaults.
Review each workspace default
Clients controls defaults such as hourly rate, billing increment, payment terms, card fees, and portal access for newly created clients. The Late payment fee default includes a Late fee type: Monthly — accrues daily charges the monthly rate daily on the outstanding balance, while One-time charges the rate once on the original invoice amount. See Set up late payment fees.
Invoices controls reminders, processing fees, locale and page formatting, numbering, tax behavior, payment instructions, and default email templates. When Peppol e-invoicing is enabled for the workspace, each tax rule also offers a Peppol VAT category (and an exemption reason for exempt categories). Without a category, Peppol e-invoices send positive rates as Standard rate and 0% as Zero rated.
Agreements controls shared signing behavior such as geolocation requirements.
Custom fonts makes approved brand fonts available to supported agreements, forms, and portal experiences.
Invoice defaults prevent repeated setup and make automated sends more predictable.
Important: Defaults usually apply when a new client or document is created. Changing a preference does not necessarily rewrite existing records.
