Add a PDF to a form or an agreement when clients need to read a brochure, price sheet, policy, or other prepared document in context. Moxie shows the PDF's pages right inside the form or agreement, without viewer toolbars, and links inside the PDF keep working.
Before you begin
Have the PDF ready on your computer. Each PDF can be up to 25 MB.
Put anything clients must fill in, sign, or answer into Moxie elements instead. Fillable PDF fields, PDF comments, and PDF scripts are not displayed, so clients see the PDF as a read-only document.
Add a PDF to a form
Open Sales → Forms and select the form, or open a client-specific form request.
Select Add element (or the + between elements), then choose PDF under Content. You can also place it inside a container.
In the settings panel, select Upload PDF and choose your file.
Adjust Width (10–100% of the form width), Alignment, and Padding top and Padding bottom.
The PDF element sits with the other content elements in the form builder.
Add a PDF to an agreement
Open Sales → Agreements and select a draft agreement, or open an agreement template from Settings → Templates.
Select Add block (or the + between blocks), then choose PDF under Content. A PDF block can also go inside columns.
In the settings panel, select Upload PDF and choose your file.
Set Width (10–100%), Alignment (Left, Center, or Right), and Outer spacing on each side.
Select Preview to check the PDF and its links the way the signer will see them.
Agreements add a PDF as a content block, alongside text, images, and designed sections.
Replace or remove a PDF
Select Replace next to the file name to upload a different PDF. The new file takes the old one's place in that element or block.
Select Delete to remove the PDF. Moxie permanently deletes the file unless another element or block in the same form or agreement still uses it, such as a duplicated block.
Select the file name to open the PDF in a new tab.
What happens next
Each form and agreement keeps its own copy. When you duplicate a form, send a client-specific form request, create an agreement from a template, save an agreement as a template, or copy an agreement, the new record gets its own copy of the PDF. Replacing or deleting the PDF in one place does not affect the others.
Clients see the pages in place. Respondents on public, embedded, and client portal forms, and signers viewing an agreement, scroll through the PDF's pages as part of the document. Pages load as they scroll into view, and the layout fits phones as well as desktops.
Links stay clickable. Web links in the PDF open in a new tab, and links to other pages in the same PDF scroll to that page. In the builder, clicking the PDF selects the element instead, so test links in preview.
Printing includes the PDF. When a signer prints an agreement from the client portal, the PDF's pages print with it.
Troubleshooting
"PDF files must be 25 MB or smaller." Compress or split the PDF and upload it again.
"This PDF couldn't be displayed." The viewer couldn't render the file. The message includes an Open PDF link so the reader can still open it in a new tab. Re-export the PDF from its source application and replace it.
A form field in the PDF doesn't appear. Fillable PDF fields aren't shown. Recreate the question with a Moxie form input or agreement block.
