Recurring tasks create a new, ordinary task on a schedule. Use them for work such as monthly reporting, weekly reviews, or periodic follow-up that should enter your task workflow automatically.
Create the reusable task
Select New recurring task.
On Details, name the schedule and the task it will create.
Choose its initial status, assignees, priority, rank, relative due date, description, client, and project.
Complete any task fields your project type provides. These custom values are copied to every generated task.
If the project bills per item, choose the product or service and quantity that each generated task should carry.
Add the reusable to-do checklist. Each generated task receives a fresh, unchecked copy.
Add any files that every generated task should receive.
Recurring tasks can carry the same working details as an ordinary project task.
Add reusable subtasks
Open Subtasks to add the smaller pieces of work that should be created with the parent task. Drag subtasks to set their order. Each subtask can have its own status, assignees, priority, rank, due offset, custom fields, description, billing details, and to-do checklist.
Subtasks and their to-dos are recreated with the parent task on every scheduled run.
Configure the schedule
Open Schedule and choose the repeat frequency, start date, and optional end date. Moxie previews the next occurrences so you can confirm the rule before saving. The server remains authoritative for actual execution.
The schedule preview translates the repeat rule into concrete dates before you commit it.
Manage existing schedules
The Recurring tasks page summarizes active, paused, upcoming, and attention-needed schedules. Search or filter the table, open a schedule to edit it, and use its actions to pause, resume, run now, or delete it.
Schedule definitions stay separate from the task list; generated tasks appear with normal project work.
Run now requires confirmation because it creates work immediately. History combines structured execution results with older history when both exist.
