Use the sales forecast

Compare won revenue, weighted pipeline, best-case value, and projected monthly sales.

Written by Geoff Mina

The sales forecast translates your open opportunities and won work into a monthly view. It helps you compare what has already closed with what may close next.

Understand the headline values

  • Won in view is the value of opportunities closed as won in the selected period.

  • Weighted pipeline applies each stage's confidence to the value of open opportunities.

  • Best case assumes every open opportunity closes at its full value.

The Moxie Sales forecast with won, weighted, and best-case values plus monthly projections

The monthly table shows where open value is expected to land and how weighting changes the projected result.

Adjust the view

Choose a 6-, 12-, or 24-month horizon and move the starting window backward when you need more historical context. Switch between Weighted and Best case to change the projected series.

Fix opportunities without a close date

Open opportunities need an expected close date before Moxie can place them in a month. Use the no-close-date control to find those records and add a realistic estimate.

Use filters and export

Filter the forecast to focus on the stages, clients, confidence levels, or other available dimensions that matter to the review. Select Export CSV when you need the forecast outside Moxie.

Treat the forecast as a planning tool

A forecast reflects your current inputs, not a guarantee. Review aging opportunities regularly and update value, stage, confidence, and expected close date when new information arrives.
