Understand the available features

The portal can include projects, invoices, financial summaries, agreements, time worked, appointments, requests, forms, and files. Only enable sections that support the way you work with clients.

Defaults do not override exceptions

Clients that use customized feature access keep their overrides when workspace defaults change. Use Clients → Portal access to review or remove those exceptions.

Feature access and navigation order are separate

Feature settings decide whether a client can see a destination. Navigation order decides where that destination appears when it is available. Because clients can override workspace defaults, the page-order editor includes every built-in destination regardless of the current default settings.

To place custom pages between built-in destinations, go to Settings → Client portal → Pages and select Navigation order.

Navigation is not the same as visibility

A navigation item makes a section available; it does not publish every record in that section. For example, the Projects feature can be enabled while an individual project remains Not visible.
