Connect a custom portal domain

Point a branded subdomain to Moxie, register it, and confirm DNS and certificate readiness.

Written by Geoff Mina

Use the included Moxie domain immediately or connect a branded subdomain that you control.

Use your Moxie domain

Your workspace includes a secure Moxie-hosted domain. When its status says that DNS is verified and the security certificate is active, it is ready to share.

Connect a custom domain

  1. Choose a subdomain you own, such as clients.yourcompany.com.

  2. Open the DNS settings at your domain provider.

  3. Add a CNAME record that points the chosen subdomain to tls-proxy.withmoxie.com.

  4. Return to Moxie and enter the complete custom domain.

  5. Confirm that you added the CNAME record, then select Register domain.

  6. Refresh the domain status until DNS and the security certificate are ready.

The Domains screen keeps DNS instructions and readiness status in one place.

Plan for DNS timing

DNS changes and certificate provisioning are not always immediate. Keep the Moxie domain available while the custom domain is being verified.

Domain limit

A workspace can register up to two portal domains. When the limit is reached, the add-domain form is disabled until an existing domain is removed.

For provider-specific DNS guidance, use the custom domain setup guide.
