Build a polished agreement once, then adapt it for each client without rebuilding the offer or document. Products and services can supply reusable content and prices to an agreement package; an agreement template can show the latest published package inside your branded pages, terms, and signing flow.
Understand the three reusable layers
Layer | Use it for | When a change reaches a client |
Product or service | Reusable description, billing type, rate, tax setting, and recurring cadence. | Linked content or pricing updates future agreements through the package. Each link can be controlled separately. |
Agreement package | The complete offer: presentation, offerings, add-ons, payment choices, and project outcomes. | Package-definition edits reach agreement templates and future agreements after you publish a new revision. Linked product or service changes can reach future agreements without republishing the package. |
Agreement template | The reusable client-facing document: pages, proposal copy, terms, signature fields, optional payment and scheduling blocks, and Brand Kit. | Its Package Offer shows the latest published package. Creating a client agreement copies the document and captures the package for that client. |
This gives you one place to maintain standard service details and one place to present them professionally. You can still make a client-specific offer when a deal calls for it.
Start in Settings → Templates. The Products & services, Agreement packages, and Agreements tabs are separate parts of the same workflow.
Link products and services to a package
In Settings → Templates → Products & services, create or review the items you sell. Give each item clear customer-facing content and the correct billing, tax, and currency rates.
In Settings → Templates → Agreement packages, create a package or open one. Under Build your package, add an offering and choose its Product or service. Add eligible extras under Add-ons when appropriate.
Leave Use linked content on when the package should follow the library item's title, description, and invoice wording. Leave Use linked pricing on when it should follow its rate, tax setting, and recurring cadence. Switch either group off when that part of the offer needs its own values.
Finish the package's own presentation, quantity rules, payment choices, and project outcomes. Validate and Publish the package definition before selecting it in an agreement template.
Content and pricing are independent links. Package-specific choices remain editable even while a library item supplies the linked values.
Customize or detach a library item
Switching off Use linked content or Use linked pricing keeps the values currently shown for that group and lets you edit them in the package. Changes to that group in Products & services no longer replace your package values. Turning a switch back on asks you to confirm because the current library values will replace that group's custom values.
Detach completely removes the product or service link while keeping the current resolved content and price in the package. Choose this when the item should become an independent offering. If a linked library item is removed or becomes unavailable, replace it or detach it using its saved values before using the package for a new agreement. Existing client agreements retain their captured offers.
Linked product or service edits can flow into future agreements without a package republish. Edits to the package itself—such as its options, presentation, payment choices, or project setup—stay in draft until you select Publish. Compare the Draft and Published previews when checking what an agreement template will use.
Place the package in an agreement template
Go to Settings → Templates → Agreements. Create a template from the library, a starter layout, or a blank document. Give it a name your team will recognize.
Build the document around the offer: introduce the work, add your terms and signature fields, and arrange pages and blocks in the order you want clients to read them. A template has no client; client-specific names and signers belong in the agreement you create from it.
Insert or select a Package offer block. In the right panel, choose a Package Template from your published packages. Use Edit source to open the global package when the reusable offer needs work.
Review the package preview in the document. The displayed revision is the published definition that template viewers and new client agreements can use.
The agreement template keeps a live reference to the package. Publishing a new package revision updates this template's preview and future agreements; unpublished package edits do not.
To use a different offer in future agreements, select another published package in the block. To stop including an offer, remove the Package Offer block. An agreement template does not have an Update from global package button because its package reference is already live.
Make the document look like your business
Open the template's Design tab and choose a published Brand kit. Your kit brings its logos, colors, typography, and corners into the agreement, helping the proposal, offer, and signing experience feel consistent with your other client-facing materials. Logo blocks can use an available kit logo variant; layout, page structure, container backgrounds, copy, and package content remain under your control.
Template and draft agreements use the latest published Brand Kit. Finalizing a client agreement locks in the published kit version for that document, so a later brand refresh does not silently restyle a finalized agreement. Clearing the kit lets the agreement use its own design settings.
Choose a published Brand Kit in the template Design tab, then preview the complete document before using it for a client.
Create a client agreement and know what is captured
In Sales → Agreements, select New agreement, choose a client, then choose your agreement under Or one of your templates.
Create the agreement. Moxie copies the template's pages and resolves the latest published package into that client's agreement. Add the client signer and review the offer, payment choices, terms, and Brand Kit presentation before finalizing or sharing.
Starting from a template creates an independent client agreement; the reusable template remains ready for the next client.
The client agreement's Agreement snapshot identifies the package revision it captured. Later product, package, or agreement-template edits do not silently change this agreement. In a Draft agreement, select Update from global package when you deliberately want the latest published offer. The confirmation explains that options, pricing, payment choices, and project outcomes may change; review the result before finalizing.
The snapshot protects this client's offer from later global changes while leaving explicit draft actions available.
Updating is intentional: check changed prices, selections, payment choices, and project outcomes afterward.
Make an agreement-only exception
For a one-off deal, select Customize for this agreement in a draft. The editor lets you change this agreement's offer without changing the package library or other agreements. You can also create a custom package directly in a draft without starting from a saved package. Where a global source exists, Restore from global package discards the agreement-only package changes and takes its latest published definition. Review customer selections and totals after customizing or restoring; prior accepted selections and quotes are cleared.
Agreement-only customization gives you room for a special deal while your standard package stays reusable.
Choose the right update action
You changed… | What to do |
A linked product or service | Check the package's linked content and pricing switches. Future agreements use the current linked values; existing agreements keep their snapshots. |
The package's own offer or payment setup | Validate and publish the package. Agreement templates and new agreements use the published revision. |
The agreement template's pages, terms, or blocks | Save the template. New agreements copy the updated document; existing agreements stay independent. |
A Brand Kit | Publish the kit. Templates and drafts use its latest publication; finalized agreements keep their captured design. |
One client's draft offer | Customize that agreement, or choose Update from global package to replace its snapshot with the latest published package. |
Troubleshooting
My template still shows the old package
Check that the package changes were published. The agreement template follows the latest published definition, not the package's draft. Reopen the template preview after publishing.
My client's agreement did not change when I edited a product or package
That agreement has its own captured package. If it is still a draft and should take the current global offer, use Update from global package. Review the new terms and prices before sending it.
I want custom wording but standard pricing
In the package, turn off Use linked content and keep Use linked pricing on. The opposite combination lets you keep standard wording while setting package-specific pricing.
I need a special offer for one client
Customize the package in that client's draft agreement. Your reusable package and agreement template remain available for standard deals.
